From combat boots to cowgirl boots, Sherri has never felt more at home than she does here in what she calls "this special place". She loves how the diverse landscapes & cultures all come together here. She enjoys learning the ancestral ways & passing them onto future generations. Putting people and the land first, she finds bringing folks together rewarding as it renews her faith in humanity in contrast to the hate, anger, & divisions of war. She is passionate about creating more success stories and less statistics through real connections & the ripples we each make in our lifetimes. Her multigenerational household is very family centered & they are all hands on in supporting local and being community centered too. Her whole family volunteers often and frequently, trying to lead by example & give back with the utmost of integrity. She feels making the world a better place starts at home and in your community. She sees these things as a better way to serve in a more helpful and productive capacity than any uniform or war ever allowed.

I was raised in the area, graduating from Ignacio High School. I graduated from CSU with a Vocational Ag Degree. I am married to Steve and we have 5 kids and 6 grandchildren. We are "retired" but run our family ranch. We raise hay and cattle.

I have lived in Arboles most of my life, as I was raised here. I came back to Arboles in 2005. I little broken and lost. I started cleaning houses, catering, working with children and food service industry is what I've always loved. Arboles is more than just my home town, its the place, where people of this community raised me and made who I am today. I was taken in by so many caring, and loving individuals, family and friends, from every background, if it wasn't for them, I can't say I would actually be here today. Broken and alone they still welcomed me back home with open arms. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is true, because I'm living proof of it.

Norma was born and raised in Allison and has lived in the area her entire life. She is a fourth generation of the Engler Family. Great Grandfather, Frances Engler homesteaded on the place in 1906. Consequently, she is interested in family history as well as history from Tiffany to Rosa. Dad, Richard Engler attended school in Tiffany as a kid. He herded sheep and cattle from the homestead through Allison, Arboles, and Rosa to Caracas, NM until the Navajo Dam was built and then had to truck the cattle around the Dam.
Norma attended school in Allison through 4 th grade and then rode the bus to Ignacio. Graduated from Ignacio High School and attended Ft. Lewis College.
Graduated FLC and worked for the Ignacio School District for 51 years before retiring.
The love of history began in HS when she had to write a term paper for English. Norma chose “The History of Allison” as the topic. She interviewed old timers in
the area as well as research from the library.
Norma is married to Pat Conley and has two grown daughters, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Anne is retired and enjoying her time raising heirloom tomatoes and roses.  She has also added budding watercolor artist to her list of accomplishments.  When not invested in these endevours she making memories with her grandchildren.
